It took me a long, long time to learn this lesson. So please don't make the mistake I once did and think that you're powerless to rewire your brain to be less stressed about work (or anything else, for that matter).
I remember when I was an undergraduate student at Duke University that I was aware of how other ambitious students were able to achieve better results than me without all the stress.
That would have been a great time for me to ask how they did that, and why our experience was so different.
For example, why did we have the exact same assignments, yet I got so much more stressed about them than they did?
And how were they able to get better results, but without the stress? And how could I change my experience so that it was more like theirs?
These would have been fantastic, useful, life-changing questions to ask myself. But I never did! Instead, I just pushed through the stress, assuming I couldn't do anything about it.
And I ended up paying a heavy, heavy price for this.
Life-changing insight #5: if you don't rewire your brain for less work stress, you'll pay a heavy, compounded toll over time
In my 20's, I never took the time to learn how to rewire my brain for less work stress to fix my problem. In my defense, I didn't know it was possible to do.

Another brain rewiring strategy is to question and analyze your thoughts and beliefs.

Think about it.
The most vivid memories in your life are either the happiest and most exciting, or the saddest and scariest.
